Report: PM orders govt to mull funding of Gazprom processing plant

MOSCOW, Aug 14 (PRIME) – Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has ordered VEB.RF to consider financing of construction of a 750 billion ruble gas processing plant near the port of Ust-Luga, built by Russian gas giant Gazprom, and the Finance Ministry to consider a subsidy in the form of contribution to the capital of VEB.RF, business daily Vedomosti reported on Wednesday, citing a letter to the prime minister.

In the letter, Gazprom asked to assign the status of a nationally significant project to its joint initiative with company RusGasDobycha to build capacities for processing of 45 billion cubic meters of gas per year near Ust-Luga and a gas chemical plant producing up to 3 million tonnes of polyethylene.
